Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

“You have sown much, and bring in little; You eat, but do not have enough; You drink, but you are not filled with drink; You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; And he who earns wages, Earns wages to put into a bag with holes.” – Hag 1:6

Are you frustrated with your financial situation? Do you invest, only to get little or no return? Do you earn good money, but feel like it just disappears?

Haggai offers the Bible cure to building wealth: invest in God’s house. Investing in God’s house is the path to Biblical prosperity. It may seem counterintuitive: if we invest in the church, how will we ever get a return? But God’s promise is that when we build His house, He will build ours. If we fail to invest in God’s house, nothing we do will prosper; but if we sow liberally into His house, He will pour Heaven’s resources into ours!

Prayer:

Father, thank You for the invitation to build Your house! I know that as I invest in Your house, You will build mine. Thank You that when I give to You, there is an eternal reward!
