Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
“All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.” – Rev. 13:8

John saw, “…a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name” (Rev. 13:1). The beast would, “…make war with the saints to overcome them” (v 7). He had been given “…authority…over every tribe, tongue, and nation” (v 7). And everyone on earth would worship him, except those whose names have been written in the Book of Life.

When you give your life to Jesus, your name is written in the Book of Life. And once your name is written in the God’s book, He will protect you from doing the wrong things. He will protect you from worshipping the wrong things! He will cause your heart to be consumed with worshipping Jesus alone: nothing and no one else.

If your name is written in the Book of Life, you have nothing to fear. So as you read the Book of Revelation, don’t fear the beast. Don’t be afraid of the enemy’s plans! Know that God has chosen you as His own. You will be protected and shielded from the enemy’s best-laid plans, because your name has been written in the Book of Life.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for protecting me from the enemy’s schemes! I am so grateful You have written my name in the Book of Life. Make me wise to what the enemy has planned. Keep me grateful that I am in the palm of Your hand, in Jesus’ name!
