Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

“’Execute true justice, show mercy and compassion everyone to his brother’… But they refused to heed, shrugged their shoulders, and stopped their ears so that they could not hear” (Zech 7:8,11).

We have a love problem in New York City. We’ve lost sight of the greatest command of all: to love one another (Jn 13:34). We don’t have a police problem; we have a love problem. We don’t have a protestor problem; we have a love problem. Until we love each other, unconditionally, Satan is establishing a root of bitterness in our city that is preventing us from taking territory for God’s Kingdom. Keep it simple. Love one another. Make a commitment today to love every person God puts in your path: unconditionally, and without fail.

Prayer:

Father, help me to love the people around me with everything I have. I want to love every single person You put in my path, because You have put them there so I can love them. Help me to keep it simple, and focus on showing the world the love that Your Son showed to me!
