Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
And I heard another from the altar saying, “Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgments.” – Rev. 16:7

God’s “judgments” – the decisions He renders concerning justice and injustice, right and wrong – are true and righteous. You can trust God! You can take Him at His word. God does not change! He is the same “yesterday, today and forever” (Heb 13:8). He has always been just; and He will always be just.

And do you know what divine justice looks like?

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. – Jn. 3:16

Jesus – the Son of God; God in the flesh – came and died for your sin. He suffered on the cross and died in your place! And He did it so that you, when you believe in Him, will not perish “…but have everlasting life.”

This is the reason we celebrate the birth of Jesus. He was born to die, so that we could be free to truly live.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for the gift of Jesus. In Him all my sin is washed away! In Him I am righteous and I am pure. Help me to be grateful for the gift of Jesus today and every day, in Jesus’ name.
