Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
And it shall be that whichever of the families of the earth do not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, on them there will be no rain. If the family of Egypt will not come up and enter in, they shall have no rain; they shall receive the plague with which the Lord strikes the nations who do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. – Zech. 14:17-18

Worship has powerful effects. If you do not practice worship in your “family” (which in this case refers to a nation or a people) “there will be no rain.” There will be no increase! There will be no provision. Worship enables God to bring blessing into your life.

Worship also keeps out the “plague” (v 18) from your family (i.e. your nation or your people). Worship keeps you safe from the sickness and disease that afflicts the enemies of God! When you worship Jesus, sickness cannot touch you. God will “put none of the diseases on you which [He has] brought on the Egyptians” (Ex. 15:26). As a child of God, you will have legal ground to stand and declare healing over your body and your life.

Worship not only brings good things into your life; it also prevents bad things from coming into your life. It both promotes and protects! Take time today to worship Jesus. The effects will be both lasting and profound.

Prayer:
Father, thank You for the power of worship. I will give my life and spend my days to worship You!  You are amazing and I love You – with all of my heart, all of my soul, and all of my strength – in Jesus’ name!
