Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

No king is saved by the multitude of an army; a mighty man is not delivered by great strength. A horse is a vain hope for safety; neither shall it deliver any by its great strength. – Ps 33:16-17

Every battle you will ever face is spiritual before it becomes physical. When we learn to persist first in the spirit, the physical fight will be easy. What battles are you facing? Do you pray before you plan? To you talk strategy with God before you run to anyone else? Are you trusting in man to bring you to victory, or in God? Are you trusting in your own technique or expertise, or in God?

Your 401k is not the source of financial security; God is. Your great boyfriend is not the source of relationship satisfaction; God is. Your new workout is not the source of physical health; God is! Whatever you need, He is the answer. Wherever you need victory, God is the One who supplies.

Prayer:

Father, I know that every battle is spiritual before it is physical. Help me to take my focus off what I see, and put it on what I know: You are God; and if You are for me, who can be against me?!
