Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

There were twelve stones according to the names of the sons of Israel: according to their names, engraved like a signet, each one with its own name according to the twelve tribes. – Ex 39:14

The priest wore the names of the tribes of Israel over his heart whenever he ministered before God. Even though all God’s people could not be physically present to worship, the priest would continually minister to God on their behalf.

Do you know who has your name on His heart? Do you know who is ministering to the Lord on your behalf? Jesus! Scripture says, “It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us” (Rom 8:34). Right now, Jesus is advocating on your behalf. He is confessing your name before God at this very moment!

No matter where you are: Jesus has you on His heart. He is making intercession for you. He is bringing your name before God. You are well-represented in Heaven, and God is looking to show His glory through you!

Prayer:

Father, thank You for loving me. Thank You for not only knowing my name, but also asking Jesus to bear my name before You. Thank You that He makes up for every area where I fall short, and supplies everything I lack!
