Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

“Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.” – Mk 10:15

How does a child differ from an adult? In his or her ability to receive unconditional love. As adults, we have been marred by human experience and loss of innocence. We have learned the hard way that when the people in our lives say they will never let us down, and will love us unconditionally, they can’t always deliver on that promise.

But children don’t know any better. They are “foolish” enough to believe that when God says He loves us unconditionally, He really means it. And when you and I put aside our intellectual hang-ups and start believing in God’s goodness with simple faith, the kingdom of God will open up before us!

Embrace the goodness of God. Revel in the foolish simplicity of the Gospel. Love Jesus like a child: unconditionally, and without reservation.

For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. – 1 Cor 1:21

Prayer:

Father, help me to receive Your love like a child. I know You are good, and You love me without restraint. Help me to believe You with all my heart, in Jesus’ name!
