Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Then they brought little children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them. But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.” – Mk. 10:13-14

To the disciples, the “little children” were a waste of time. They “rebuked those who brought” the little children to Jesus. Why should Jesus waste His time ministering to kids when there were grown adults who needed His time and attention? But Jesus wanted to spend time with the children. “Let the little children come to Me,” He said. “Do not forbid them.” To the world, it was a waste of time; but to Jesus, it was a priority.

Jesus stops when others walk right by. Jesus spends time when others think He should move on! God makes time for the least likely: those who would seem to have nothing to offer Him in return. Because where we see immaturity, God sees potential.

Spend time like Jesus. Stop for the people who can never pay you back. Make time for those who can’t offer you anything in return! Because when you do it for them, you do it for Him.

And the King will answer and say to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.” – Matt. 25:40

Prayer:

Father, help me to spend time like Jesus! Remind me to stop for the one. I don’t want to arrange my schedule like other people say I should. I want to spend my time like You tell me to, in Jesus’ name!
