Commentary from Pastor Mike White:

‘If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments, and perform them, then I will give you rain in its season, the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. – Lev 26:3-4

God promises to take us into a land flowing with milk and honey. He promises to make provision on our behalf: to give rain in its season so that all the work of our hands may be blessed!

But that promise is conditional: If we obey His commandments, then He will cause His blessings to wash over us. Obedience activates the rain! But let’s not get scared and discouraged by the word ‘obedience.’ Under the context of the New Covenant, obedience is defined as accepting the finished work of the Cross. New Testament obedience means trusting in Jesus Christ for salvation.

When we put our trust in Jesus Christ, we have satisfied God’s mandate for obedience.  When we seek Him with all our heart, He will make provision for each and every single one of our needs!

Prayer:

Father, thank You for the freedom I find in the Cross! Thank You for sending Jesus to die for me, so that I can enjoy the righteousness only He deserves. I know that when I trust in Him, I have been washed clean.
