Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
On the next day all the congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron, saying, “You have killed the people of the Lord.” – Num 16:41

The people of Israel just wouldn’t stop complaining. No matter what happened, they “murmured against” Moses and Aaron: the leaders God had chosen! When things were going poorly, the people complained. When things were going well, the people complained!

This is a lesson in leadership. No matter what you do, there are certain people who simply won’t make the choice to be happy. They will murmur and complain! Don’t be surprised by complaints. But don’t be thrown off by them either! God will give you the grace to endure them, the wisdom to adjust to them, and the strength to overcome them.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for defending the leaders You have chosen. Help me to lead with purpose and with grace. I want to be open and receptive to constructive criticism; but never thrown off by complaints, in Jesus’ name!
