Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
…while Annas and Caiaphas were high priests, the word of God came to John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness. – Lk 3:2

On Thursday, 3/14, we saw that God gives His people victory, even in the wilderness (link HERE). The “wilderness” typically describes a season of your life in which things aren’t “clicking:” progress feels more difficult than it should, and perhaps it doesn’t feel like God is moving like you wished He would.

Today, Scripture shows us that God speaks, even in the wilderness! John the Baptist deliberately made his home in the wilderness – away from the noise – and God spoke to him there. Are you going through a wilderness season? God speaks, even when you’re in that place! You will come out of your “wilderness,” more attuned to God’s voice, and closer to His heart, than ever before.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for speaking in the wilderness. I know You are always speaking; and I pray I would never stop listening. Thank You for speaking to me, in Jesus’ name!
