Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

And you shall give some of your authority to him, that all the congregation of the children of Israel may be obedient. – Num 27:20

God instructed Moses to give some of his authority to Joshua. Authority is transferable: it can be given. Moses gave some of his authority to Joshua, and Joshua led the people of Israel into the Promised Land.

Do you know who has given His authority to you?

And Jesus came and spoke to [His disciples], saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. – Matt 28:18-20

Jesus has not just given you some of His authority; He gave it all to you! Therefore, go! God can accomplish amazing things through you when you walk in the authority Jesus gave you.

Prayer:

Father, help me to walk in the authority Jesus gave me. Help me to move with power! I know Jesus gave me His authority for a reason. Help me to heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, and cast out demons in His name!
