Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
The Lord your God has multiplied you, and here you are today, as the stars of heaven in multitude. – Deut. 1:10
Do you remember what God told Abraham many generations before Moses?
Then He brought him outside and said, “Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.” – Gen. 15:5
Generations later, as Moses reflected on God’s faithfulness, he noted that God had done everything He promised to do. He promised multiplication! And then He multiplied. He promised to raise up a nation more numerous than the stars of heaven! And then He rose them up.
You will have this moment one day too. God will do what He promised to do. You will look at everyone and everything you have in life and confess, “Here you are today.” God will do what He promised to do! But when He fulfills His promise to you, will you be able to honestly claim that you waited in faith until it happened? Will you be able to say you were just like Abraham, trusting God completely? And if you can’t say you always waited in faith, isn’t today as good a day as any to make a change?
Here you are today. The Lord has blessed you in so many ways! Will you stand in faith so He can bless you with so much more?
Prayer:
Father, without You I would not even be alive! Every victory I have experienced in my life is because of You. Help me to wait in faith for every promise You have spoken over me that has yet to manifest! You were faithful then, and You will be faithful now, in Jesus’ mighty name.
