Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Then Moses said to the Lord, “O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.” So the Lord said to him, “Who has made man’s mouth? Or who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the blind? Have not I, the Lord?” – Ex 4:10-11
Moses was not a good public speaker: he was, “…slow of speech and slow of tongue.” But God made the mouth.
David was not as big as Goliath: he was a “…youth, and [Goliath was] a man of war from his youth” (1 Sam 17:33). But God gave him strength.
Paul had a terrible past: he used to round up Christians and kill them for their faith! But God used him to write 13 out of 27 books in the New Testament.
What will define your destiny: God’s word, or your excuses? When God tells you you can do something; believe Him! Don’t talk yourself out of your destiny before God can even make it happen. Death and life are in the power of the tongue (Prov 18:21). When God calls, say yes!
For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made… – Ps 139:13-14a
Prayer:
Father, help me never to doubt my destiny. If You tell me to do it, I declare I can do it: in Jesus’ name!
