Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Then the children of Judah came to Joshua in Gilgal. And Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him: “You know the word which the Lord said to Moses the man of God concerning you and me in Kadesh Barnea.” – Josh. 14:6

This is a picture of what your life in prayer should look like. Caleb had received a word from the Lord. All of Hebron would be his! So when it came time to divide up his inheritance, Caleb reminded Joshua – God’s representative – of God’s word.

But you don’t need a representative any more. Jesus is your Advocate (1 Jn. 2:1)! If your life doesn’t look like the promise: remind God. Bring His word back to Him. Did you know God doesn’t mind when you remind Him of His promises? In fact, He encourages it:

Put Me in remembrance;
Let us contend together… – Isa. 43:26

If you would just bring His word back to Him in prayer – if you would just remind Him of His promise – everything He has spoken would come to pass.

So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. – Isa. 55:11

Make God’s word return to Him. Bring it back to Him in prayer! And He will do the rest.

Prayer:

Father, make me bold in my prayers. You have promised me some amazing things! And I will not rest until every single one of them comes to pass, in Jesus’ name.
