Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
So the Lord gave to Israel all the land of which He had sworn to give to their fathers, and they took possession of it and dwelt in it. – Josh. 21:43

What has God sworn to give you? Has He promised you a fulfilling career? A healthy relationship? A financial inheritance that you can pass down to the next generation?

Everything God promised Israel was fulfilled. Yet not everyone to whom God made the promise saw the fulfillment. Catch this! God will do what He has promised to do through His people! But whether or not you experience it depends on your participation. His word will come to pass! But whether or not it comes to pass through you depends on your willingness to yield to His plans and purposes for your life.

You can bite, scratch and claw against God’s will! He has given you that freedom. But you will never see your dreams fulfilled. It is only by fully yielding to the word of God that you can “take possession and dwell in” the fullness of His promise.

Prayer:

Father, I want to experience the fullness of Your promise! I am choosing to yield right now to Your Holy Spirit like never before. I am so grateful for Your presence and Your patience with me, in Jesus’ name!
