Commentary from Pastor Mike White:

“Gideon said to Him, ‘O my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about…’” – Judges 6:13

When the Angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon to encourage him to walk out his destiny, Gideon mocked Him. “The Lord is with you,” God said (v 12). But Gideon was using all his energy to complain. “You [are a] mighty man of valor!” God said. But Gideon was so busy complaining that he didn’t realize God was in his midst!

Gideon was weak (Judges 6:15), but God made him strong. As soon as Gideon stopped complaining and believed God’s words, two things happened: 1) the Holy Spirit fell on him (v 34), and 2) he was filled with boldness.

Gideon went on to become one of the greatest warriors Israel had ever seen. What is God getting ready to do through you?

Prayer:

Father, help me to stop complaining! I know that whenever I complain, I give place to the enemy (Eph 4:27). But when I believe everything You say about me and step out in faith, my destiny cannot be stopped!
