Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Again the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and the Lord delivered them into the hand of the Philistines for forty years. – Judges 13:1
God wants to protect you. He wants to provide for you! But when you intentionally disregard His word and His design, He cannot fulfill His desires for you because you are deliberately residing away from Him. When you willfully choose to pursue your own agenda instead of God’s, you are wandering off the path of protection He has for you. It wasn’t His decision; it was yours. He wants to protect you! But when you persistently ignore the tug on your heart to do what God says, you are wandering from under the umbrella of His protection.
Do you want the hand of God on your life? Or do you want to be delivered into the hand of your enemies? Whose hand will you choose? Deep down you know God is real! And You know He designed you to do something amazing. Stay close to Him. Say yes to His plans, and reject everything that’s not from Him! And you will stay protected and provided for, all of your days.
Prayer:
Lord, I say yes and amen to the amazing plans You have for my life! I will not waste one more moment of my life in willful disobedience. I will follow after You with all that I have, and all that I am, in Jesus’ name.
