Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes. – Judges 17:6

Leadership is important! Without a leader, the people did whatever they wanted. Every man, woman, and child, was allowed to determine what “right” and “wrong” meant for themselves. There was no adherence to God’s word. There was no listening to His voice!

But when leaders lead, God’s people receive everything they need. Leading well means adhering to God’s word, and listening to His voice: even when it’s unpopular, and especially when it’s hard!

Prayer:

Father, bless our country, and our city, with amazing leaders who are not afraid to live by Your word! Make me a strong leader in my family and my workplace: someone who is not afraid to stand up for the Truth, in Jesus’ name!
