Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
As he loved cursing, so let it come to him; as he did not delight in blessing, so let it be far from him. – Ps 109:17

You take in what you put out. You receive what you give! You reap what you sow.

Your words are important. Life and death are in the power of the tongue (Prov 18:21)! So how are you using your tongue? Are you using it to bless others, or are you using it to curse them? Are you using it to wish others well, and to pray for them?

When you love to curse, it will “come to [you].” If you always wish the worst on others – even those who offend you most – you are actually sealing your own downfall. But if you delight in blessing others, you will become a magnet for God to bless you!

Prayer:

Father, I know there is power in my tongue. Help me to use it for good, and never for evil, in Jesus’ name!
