CityLight Pastor Commentary:
“Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself” (John 10:17-18). Jesus gave His life on the Cross. No one took it from Him, because that would have been impossible. As His children, it is impossible for an adversary to take our life; Christ guarantees we have eternal life when we give ourselves to Him. There is tremendous authority and power that comes with understanding your immunity from death as a follower of Jesus Christ. No one – not even Satan himself – can take your life from you! What do you possibly have to fear?

Father, thank You that You promise me eternal life! I know I have already gained eternal life through a relationship with You!
