Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Just then all the men of Israel came to the king, and said to the king, “Why have our brethren, the men of Judah, stolen you away and brought the king, his household, and all David’s men with him across the Jordan?” – 2 Sam 19:41
Judah and Israel should have been celebrating! David was king over Israel again. But instead, they were arguing about who would get to “escort” the king (v 40) back to the capital city of Jerusalem. They were arguing about who would get to be in the presence of the King the most!
There is more than enough of Jesus to go around. You don’t have to worry that someone is getting more favor with Him than you! You don’t have to have a lack mentality, as if Jesus only has a certain amount of love to give! He loves infinitely; and He blesses infinitely. If God wants to bless someone else, what is that to you? Trust that there is more then enough blessing to go around.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your infinite love! I know there is no limit to Your blessing. There is no limit to Your love! I will celebrate when others receive favor from You, instead of being jealous, in Jesus’ name!
