Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever. – Ps 125:1
God is immutable: He does not change. His attributes are constant. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Heb 13:8). So how do we become more like Him? In a world where our surroundings are increasingly unsteady, how can we find stability?
Trust God. Trust is, “Firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something.”[1] When we trust in God, we become more like Him. When we trust in His stability, He makes us steadfast. When we trust in His truth, we become more honest. When we trust in his strength, the Holy Spirit makes us stronger than ever!
If you want to be immovable, fall on the Rock. Today is the perfect day to start trusting God like never before.
Prayer:
Father, make me rock solid. Make me like Mount Zion: immovable, and unchangeable. Help me to trust in You more today than ever before.
