Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
But Solomon took thirteen years to build his own house; so he finished all his house. – 1 Kings 7:1
Solomon modeled his home after the temple. Our households should be a reflection of the Kingdom of God. Our personal worship should be a reflection of the worship we experience in community. We shouldn’t simply go to church on Sunday, and then leave unchanged to go out and live the rest of our lives. We should model our lives based on what happens in the church!
Do you prize the word of God at home? Do you cultivate an atmosphere of the presence of God in your home? Do you pray without ceasing in your home? If not, ask God to help you!
Prayer:
Father, help me to model my home life after Your word. I want to be changed every time I go to church, and every time I’m enjoying Your presence at home, in Jesus’ name!
