CityLight Pastor Commentary:
“Then it happened, when the musician played, that the hand of the Lord came upon him” (2 Kings 3:15). The kings of Israel and Judah wanted to know God’s will, so they sought out Elisha the prophet. Before he heard from God, Elisha called for a musician; and it wasn’t until the musician started playing that Elisha heard God speaking. There is amazing power in worship. When we are in seasons of drought, worship refreshes our souls. When we are in seasons of silence, worship can bring God’s word to our ears. When we get to heaven, we will worship with all the heavenly host. So why not start practicing now?
Prayer:
Father, I want to worship You! Help me to praise You at all times. Help me to worship with reckless abandon. I know that worship brings revelation and breakthrough, and I thank You for it in Jesus’ Name!
