Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

So, being sent on their way by the church, they passed through Phoenicia and Samaria, describing the conversion of the Gentiles; and they caused great joy to all the brethren. – Acts 15:3

Paul and Barnabas had an urgent mission. They were on their way to Jerusalem to settle a doctrinal debate, and the fate of the church at Antioch rested on the outcome! But they weren’t in too much of a hurry to stop and minister as they passed through every place on their way, causing “…great joy to all the brethren” (v 3).

Everywhere the apostles went was a ministry opportunity! Yes, they had somewhere to be; but they were never in such a rush that they didn’t have time to stop for the lost!

Yes, you have things to do. Sure, you’re in a rush! But do you make time to stop and share the Gospel on your way? Everywhere you go is an opportunity to share the grace of God. Don’t miss it!

Prayer:

Father, make me a (wo)man of holy leisure. Help me to live my life in such a way that I always have time to stop and share the Gospel with those who need to hear the Good News. I am never in too much of a rush to see souls saved, in Jesus’ name!
