Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
I cry out to the Lord with my voice; with my voice to the Lord I make my supplication. I pour out my complaint before Him; I declare before Him my trouble. – Ps 142:1-2
David poured out his complaint before God. He told God about all his problems! He didn’t pretend everything was going right in his life. He honestly sought God, and asked God to meet him in his time of need with exactly what he needed.
Get honest with God! Do you want to complain? Complain! Are you in trouble? Let it out! He already knows what you’re going through anyway. He’s just waiting for you to invite Him into your life and ask Him to go to work.
Prayer:
Father, I want to be honest with You. Help me to remember that I don’t have to hide anything from You! Thank You for the freedom to be transparent at all times, in Jesus’ name.
