Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. – Ps 147:3

God is the Healer. His Hebrew name is Jehovah Rapha, which means the God who heals (Ex 15:26). Healing is not just something He does; it is who He is! Healing is an inseparable and inevitable part of God’s character.

God doesn’t just handle physical healing; He also specializes in emotional healing. When your heart is broken, He will heal you. When you are wounded, He will bind you up. He will put you back together – not just as good as you used to be – but better than you’ve ever been before!

Are you hurting? Are you wounded? Brokenhearted? Being comforted by another person can only go so far. What your soul aches for is to be restored to loving communion with your Father in Heaven, who loves you more than you can imagine! When you know Him for who He truly is, heartache will melt away.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for healing my broken heart. Thank You for binding up my wounds! I know healing is only possible in Your presence; so I am going to get as close to You as I can, in Jesus’ name!
