Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly…But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper. – Ps 1:1-3

Prosperity comes when you delight in the law of the Lord. The key to prosperity is not in the pages of some self-help book, at the end of an exciting internship, or on the other side of a successful job interview. Prosperity doesn’t depend on your job title or the experience under your belt. Prosperity is found in the word of God. The key to prosperity is delighting in the law of the Lord!

When you delight in the law of the Lord, you will have deep roots. You won’t have to fear drought. You won’t be swept away by floods! God will give you fruit in its season, and whatever you do shall prosper!

Prayer:

Father, I want to delight in Your word! I know the key to being firmly planted in prosperity is meditating on Your word day and night. Thank You that when I am rooted in You, whatever I do will prosper!
