Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness! You have relieved me in my distress; have mercy on me, and hear my prayer. – Ps 4:1
If you want God to hear you, you have to call! If you want relief, you have to cry out. If you want mercy, you have to pray.
You have a pivotal role to play in your destiny. God has proclaimed His will for you in His Word; but you have to seize hold of it and declare His word over your own life through prayer! The things of God don’t just “happen;” they are forged as you make the decision to open your mouth and pray.
Prayer:
Father, help me to realize that I have a role to play in my own transformation. I know the real work happens in prayer. Remind me to open my mouth and pray, in Jesus’ name!
