CityLight Pastor Commentary:
“The Lord will hear when I call to Him” (Ps 4:3b). Heaven is longing for the day when Christians will have confidence in their prayers. The author of Hebrews tells us to “…boldly approach the throne of grace” (Heb 4:16). John tells us that “…if we ask anything according to His will, [God] hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him” (1 Jn 5:14). Jesus has given us authority to pray His Father’s will out over our lives and every situation in them. When we pray with confidence, power follows. And where power follows, the masses will be led to Christ.
Prayer:
Father, help me to pray with confidence! I know that whenever my prayers line up with Your will, You hear me. Help me to pray accordingly: not wondering if my prayers are good enough, but knowing they are righteous in Jesus’ name!
