Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made all he did to prosper in his hand. – Gen 39:2-3
Did God throw Joseph in the pit? No; his brothers did. Did God sell Joseph as a slave? No; his brothers did. Did God send Joseph to Egypt? No; his brothers did. But God would use it all for good!
The enemy brings about evil; but God turns it around for good. God didn’t cause Joseph’s calamity; but He did redeem it for His glory. The enemy tries to hold us captive; but God break us free. The enemy accuses us of things we didn’t do; but God shines light on the truth. Whatever you are going through, God will promote you and cause you to prosper!
This is the tension in which we live as believers. Does evil exist in this world? Yes. Does God want it to spread? No. And that is why He has equipped and empowered you and me to go out and change the world with our prayers. Don’t sit back and wonder why evil exists; get up and do something about it!
Prayer:
Father, thank You for filling me with Your Holy Spirit! Thank You for equipping me to pray powerfully and effectively. I declare that my prayers have power – and that I am a world changer – in Jesus’ name!
