CityLight Pastor Commentary:
“…the house of the Lord, was filled with a cloud, so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the Lord filled the house of God” (2 Chron 5:13-14). Something amazing happened as Solomon’s craftsmen finished building the temple at Jerusalem that would house God’s presence. All the musicians and priests sang out “as one,” and God’s presence became so thick that they could barely stand. We can get to this place in times of corporate worship. God will honor us – His church – with more of His Presence than we have ever experienced before when we worship together. Israel honored God with their worship and their unity, and He honored them with more of Himself!
Prayer:
Father, help us to place a high value on corporate worship. Help us to covet Your presence as a church community. We know that when we cry out to You as one, You will make Your presence known!
