Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

Then Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord in the presence of all the assembly of Israel, and spread out his hands (for Solomon had made a bronze platform five cubits long, five cubits wide, and three cubits high, and had set it in the midst of the court; and he stood on it, knelt down on his knees before all the assembly of Israel, and spread out his hands toward heaven)… – 2 Chron 6:12-13

Who knows you’re a Christian? Do your friends know because of the way you live your life? Do your co-workers know because of the way you honor others? Do absolute strangers see the love of God in your eyes, and the thrill of pursuit on your heart, because of the way you chase after God with all that you are?

Solomon learned something from his father, David. He didn’t hide his love for God. Solomon showed all the people of Israel just how much he loved God. He showed them how to completely surrender before Him. This is the mark of a true leader: absolute surrender to God, for all the world to see!

“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” – Matt 5:14-16

Prayer:

Father, fill me with boldness to be who You call me to be. Fill me with faith to pray for the things You have promised. Fill me with love for the people around me, so I can be a testimony for You everywhere I go!
