However I did not believe their words until I came and saw with my own eyes; and indeed the half of the greatness of your wisdom was not told me. You exceed the fame of which I heard. – 2 Chron 9:6
One encounter trumps it all. The Queen of Sheba sought Solomon to ask him the most difficult questions she could think of; he answered them all. She sought him to see the glory of his kingdom; its magnificence surpassed everything she had heard. All her expectations were exceeded when she met the king face to face.
You’ve probably heard about God. You’ve seen people ask Him life’s biggest questions and find an answer. You’ve watched as the lives of others change for the better as they pursue God with everything they have. But hearing about Him is not enough! There is more.
Knowing about God, and meeting Him first-hand, are very different things. You can hear about God your whole life, but that head knowledge might never make a difference. But when you see His glory for yourself, you will change. Your problems will fade into the shadows in His magnificent light!
Are you ready for an encounter with God? Let’s ask Him to make Himself real to you today!
Prayer:
Lord, I confess that I’ve settled for an intellectual understanding of who You are. Give me more! I want to know You. I want to see You face to face. Your word says that when I seek You, You will be found. Here I am, Lord: seeking You. Make Yourself known!!
