Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
He also brought me out into a broad place; He delivered me because He delighted in me. – Ps 18:19
God didn’t deliver you because He had to. He delivered you because He delights in you!
God created you for one purpose: to enjoy intimacy with Him. He welcomes you into Heaven with open arms because He actually wants you in Heaven with Him! There’s nothing better for us than eternity with God. But what if I told you it’s a two-way street: that as far as God is concerned, there’s nothing better than eternity with you?!
God loves you more than you can ever imagine. But He doesn’t just love you; He also likes you. He created you because He wants you around! When you realize the depth of God’s love for you, you will live to show the depth of His love to others.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your infinite, impossible love! I know You delight in me. I know You love me, and You also like me! Help me to grasp the simple truth that as much as I love You, You love me infinitely more!
