Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
So the workmen labored, and the work was completed by them; they restored the house of God to its original condition and reinforced it. – 2 Chron 24:13
King Joash, “…set his heart on repairing the house of the Lord” (2 Chron 24:4). He gathered workmen and gave them everything they needed to restore the temple at Jerusalem to its former glory. But the craftsmen did better than he expected. They not only restored the house of God to its original condition; they also reinforced it and made it better than it had ever been!
God doesn’t just restore; He reinforces! His desire is not just to get you back where you used to be; it is to promote you to places you have never been! You are the New Covenant temple (1 Cor 6:19). He will rebuild, restore, and reinforce your life around His presence.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for transforming me into the image and likeness of Your Son Jesus Christ! Don’t leave me the same. Restore me. Reinforce me! Make me better and stronger than ever, in Jesus’ name.
