Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ has not accomplished through me, in word and deed, to make the Gentiles obedient—in mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God, so that from Jerusalem and round about to Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ. – Rom 15:18-19

Paul preached from personal experience. He spoke of things Jesus had done through him, and would not “dare to speak” of anything else. He refused to settle for hearing about God’s goodness through other people. He wanted to experience signs, miracles and wonders firsthand! He worked overtime to make sure his own personal testimony was the most powerful witness available.

Your own life should be the most powerful testimony you have ever heard. If it’s not, don’t panic: just as God for more. Ask God to work through you, just as He worked through Paul. Ask that He would perform signs and wonders to confirm your speech as you preach the Good News. Ask that He would save, heal and deliver through your hands as you pray!

You don’t need examples – stories from other peoples’ lives – to preach well. You simply need to taste and see firsthand that God is good.

Prayer:

Father, make me a living, breathing testimony of the power of the Gospel. I want to see signs, miracles and wonders in my daily life! Bless me with a powerful testimony, just as You blessed Paul, in Jesus’ name.
