Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. – 1 Cor. 3:6
Think about the blessings you have in your life. Think about every area in which you have “increased.” Now let this simple truth sink in: You didn’t do it; He did it. Sure, you might have planted. Yes, you might have watered! Undoubtedly you put in effort. But it is God alone who gives the increase.
For those of you who have a good amount of money in the bank, God did it:
Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. – Jas. 1:16-17
If you’re reading this and you have amazing children who worship the Lord, God did it:
Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward. – Ps. 127:3
For anyone who has a good relationship with Jesus, God did it!
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. – Eph. 2:8-10
Whatever good things you have in your life: God did it! And if He did it, you don’t get to take credit. You just get to say thank You. But the best news is this: if God did it, you don’t have to maintain it! God will sustain what He has built; and what He has built (and what You thank Him for!), no man can tear down.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for all the supernatural blessings I have in my life. Help me to boldly declare: You did it. You are the author and finisher of my faith. You are the One who makes me healthy and whole! I am so grateful, in Jesus’ name.
