Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
So Haman took the robe and the horse, arrayed Mordecai and led him on horseback through the city square, and proclaimed before him, “Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delights to honor!” – Esther 6:11
Haman had a plan. He would go to the King of Persia first thing in the morning. He would convince the king to kill Mordecai! But Haman had a problem. Mordecai was of Jewish descent. He was one of God’s people! And God will never let His people falter or fail.
God beat Haman to the punch. God kept King Ahasuerus up all night, reminding him that Mordecai was special and should be honored. So by the time Haman got to the king’s house, the king’s mind was already made up. Mordecai would be honored! And Haman would be the one to honor him. Haman literally paraded Mordecai – the very man he had wanted to kill! – around the entire city, declaring and proclaiming how awesome Mordecai was.
You have an enemy. Satan wants to destroy you, the same way Haman wanted to destroy Mordecai! But the enemy has a problem. You are one of God’s people! And God will never let His people falter or fail. You are blessed and highly favored of the Lord! And no evil shall befall you, for God is with you.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for protecting me! I declare that all of the enemy’s plans to destroy me will backfire in Jesus’ name. They will result in my promotion instead of my destruction! They will result in my honor instead of dishonor. You are faithful, and I am thankful, in Jesus’ name!
