Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Would He contend with me in His great power? No! But He would take note of me. – Job 23:6
Job knew he could never win an argument with God. He didn’t want to start a fight; he simply wanted God to notice him! If only Job knew God had not only already noticed him, but loved him from the start!
Recall in Job 1, God was bragging about Job! He said there was, “…none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man” (Job 1:8). Job thought he was a nobody; but he was really the focus of God’s attention.
Even when you feel like God doesn’t see you, He does. Even if you feel like God doesn’t love you, He does! You don’t need to contend with God so He will “take note” of you. He knows you, and He loves you: no matter what.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for loving me unconditionally! I know there is nothing I can do to stop Your love. Help me to know that I am loved, every day of my life.
