Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

“Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation” (2 Cor 6:2). It is a tremendous hindrance to read the Old Testament and assume it has nothing to do with Jesus Christ. Every word, sentence and phrase written in Scripture – both Old Testament and New – points to Jesus Christ. In today’s reading, Paul quotes Isaiah 49:8 to the Corinthians. Isaiah 49 speaks of a Savior who will come and be a light to the Gentiles and a servant to all mankind. But Paul makes clear something that we must remember: the time is now! The day of salvation is here! Death has been defeated, and the Savior of mankind has arrived! We have all been given new life under God’s grace. Because of the Cross, we have the chance to live under a New Covenant with freedom! Do not wait, and do not delay. Share the Gospel with every person you possibly can so that they can enjoy the salvation which you and I have already been granted.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for the Cross. Now is the accepted time; today is the day of salvation. I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. From this day forward, I will live my life for Him!
