Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
I sleep, but my heart is awake; it is the voice of my beloved! He knocks, saying, “Open for me, my sister, my love, my dove, my perfect one; for my head is covered with dew, my locks with the drops of the night.” – Song 5:2

When is the best time to hear from God? When you’re awake! Of course, right?! Yes…but not only when you’re awake. God wants to speak while you’re asleep too! Scripture says that even when your body is asleep, your “heart is awake!”

There is no such thing as a bad time to hear from God. You should be hearing from Him when you wake up. You should be hearing from Him throughout the day, whether you’re “in prayer” or not. You should be hearing from Him before you go to bed! And you should be hearing from Him, even while you sleep, as He gives you supernatural dreams and tells you about things to come.

Refuse to put God in a box, by asking Him to come and talk with you at a certain time every day. Make yourself available so that whenever He is speaking, you are listening! The best time to hear from God is always now.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for always speaking to me. Thank You for telling me what You want me to hear, around the clock! You are awesome, and I am listening, in Jesus’ name!
