Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
“I will restore your judges as at the first, and your counselors as at the beginning. Afterward you shall be called the city of righteousness, the faithful city.” – Isa 1:26

Jerusalem was overrun by sin. God’s people had stopped listening to Him! God wanted to restore righteousness at Jerusalem. So where did He start? He appointed righteous leaders. Why? Because when righteous leaders are installed, righteous people will follow.

So what do you do when your leaders aren’t righteous? Pray that they would be overcome by the goodness of God. Pray that they would be convicted by His Holy Spirit! Pray that the leaders in our cities, our nation, and the world, would lay their lives at the feet of Jesus. As they do, the people they lead will reap the eternal reward.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for righteous leaders! I pray You would put people in power in my city who want to follow You with their whole heart. I pray that people would follow them as they make a decision to follow Jesus. I bless my leaders, in Jesus’ name!
