Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
It shall come to pass that your choicest valleys shall be full of chariots, and the horsemen shall set themselves in array at the gate. He removed the protection of Judah. – Isa. 22:7-8a
The prophet Isaiah was delivering a sober dose of reality to God’s people. They were not following after God. They had forgotten Him! And because they were no longer in covenant with God, His protection was removed.
God protects us. But when we stray outside of covenant with Him, He is forced to “remove the protection.” When you choose Him, He can protect you; but if you reject Him, He will not force you to accept His protection! And without His protection, the enemy has access into your life to breed confusion and destruction.
Outside of Jesus, you are vulnerable; but inside of covenant with God through Jesus Christ, you are safe as can be!
…and your life is hidden with Christ in God. – Col 3:3
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your protection over my life! Thank You for covering me with Your strong right hand. I look to You for protection and provision, in Jesus’ name!
