Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly, he who despises the gain of oppressions, who gestures with his hands, refusing bribes, who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed, and shuts his eyes from seeing evil: he will dwell on high; his place of defense will be the fortress of rocks; bread will be given him, his water will be sure. – Isa. 33:15-16
Holiness leads to new heights. Do you want to know what it feels like to “dwell on high?” To have all your needs met by your Father in heaven? To always have enough to eat and enough to drink? Walk righteously. Speak uprightly! Do the right thing, and keep your eyes on Jesus. He will give you everything you need.
I have been young, and now am old;
Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken,
Nor his descendants begging bread. – Ps. 37:25
Prayer:
Father, thank You that I don’t have to dishonor You to become successful. I don’t have to compromise my integrity to accomplish my goals in life! I just have to keep my eyes on You, and You will do the rest, in Jesus’ name.
