Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

“For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross” (1 Cor 1:19-20). Our fullness dwells in Jesus Christ. When we put our faith in Him, we become pleasing to the Father because Jesus’ blood has atoned for our sins. At the moment of salvation, we immediately become reconciled to God. When we confess that Jesus is Lord of our lives, we make peace with God through His blood! Blood has always been required to atone for sins. Under the Old Covenant, animals were sacrificed and their blood was poured out so that reconciliation could take place between God and His people. Under the New Covenant, we appropriate (lay hold of and stake our claim to) the blood of Jesus Christ by confessing our faith in Him! No more blood is required. Jesus died on the Cross, once and for all, for every single one of your sins. There is no sin so great that it can cancel His perfect work. His blood is enough!

Prayer:

Father, thank You for the death, burial and resurrection of Your Son Jesus Christ! I believe in Him! I know His blood makes me clean, and I accept His sacrifice to make atonement for all my sins. I know that because of Your Son, I have a right to a restored relationship with You!
