Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
“Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, let not the mighty man glory in his might, nor let the rich man glory in his riches; but let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows Me…” – Jer 9:23-24
God is the ultimate prize. He Himself is the fruit of our labors, and His presence is what we should seek to enjoy. Wise men will find themselves unwise without God’s wisdom, and mighty men will find themselves weak without the strength of Christ. Rich men will be made poor apart from God; but he who glories in God alone will find himself satisfied!
God exalts men and women who understand and know Him. When we forget about everything else and simply focus on God, He will make us glorious.
Prayer:
Father, You are amazing! I will glory in You and You alone. I will make understanding and knowing You my one desire!
