Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. – 1 Thess 5:8

Faith and love protect our hearts. The hope of salvation protects our minds. The key to emotional health is maintaining an attitude of faith and love. Do trust in God, even when you can’t see Him? Do you love other people, even when they don’t deserve it? The key to mental health is always resting in the permanent hope of salvation. No matter what you are going through, you will rest with Jesus in Heaven for all eternity!

Father, thank You for perfect emotional and mental health. Bless my heart and mind, in Jesus’ name! Protect me, and strengthen me to do Your word: all my days!
